Special to the News
Austin, Tex., April 20 - The Lieutenant Charles C. Pulis, who was reported by the Associated Press as having been blown up while dynamiting buildings in San Francisco, has a brother, Albert D. Pulis, in this city, a linotype operator, who came here three days ago from Shreveport.
Mr. Pulis states that his brother, who is a First Lieutenant of regular artillery, is hardy and strong, with plenty of nerve, and that he will not succumb to the injuries of the explosion. He said that Lieut. Pulis served as a Second Lieutenant in Col. Bryan's regiment during the Spanish-American War and after it was mustered out enslisted in the regular army, securing many promotions and finally became First Lieutenant of Artillery, having graduated from the Army Artillery School at Fortress Monroe.
The parents of the Pulis brothers reside in Oakland, Cal., and have been wired by Mr. Pulis, but no reply received.
